Placed.au is looking for two (2) full-time Cooks for our client in Goulburn, New South Wales. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking a range of meals to a high standard while supporting the kitchen team in delivering efficient food service and maintaining consistent standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.

Job Description

• Prepare, cook, and present a range of meals and menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.

• Prepare ingredients by measuring, cutting, chopping, mixing, portioning, and completing other food preparation tasks as required.

• Ensure all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and presented consistently in accordance with venue standards.

• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure food is prepared and delivered efficiently during service periods.

• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, portion sizes, and presentation to maintain consistent food quality.

• Assist with the preparation and organisation of ingredients and kitchen requirements for daily service.

• Monitor stock levels of food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies and notify management when replenishment is required.

• Receive, check, store, and rotate food supplies appropriately to maintain freshness and minimise wastage.

• Follow appropriate food storage, handling, and preparation procedures to maintain food safety standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, preparation surfaces, utensils, equipment, and storage areas.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report equipment faults, hazards, or maintenance requirements to management.

• Assist with cleaning, preparation, and closing procedures to ensure the kitchen is ready for subsequent service.

• Minimise food wastage through appropriate preparation, portion control, storage, and stock rotation.

• Follow all workplace health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.

• Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain an efficient and professional service environment.

Qualifications / Attributes

• Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

• Must have at least one (1) year of relevant work experience in a Cook or similar commercial kitchen role.

• Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, food presentation, and commercial kitchen operations.

• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Ability to prepare and present food consistently to a high standard.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks during busy service periods.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality and presentation standards.

• Good organisational and time management skills.

• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, instructions, and established kitchen standards accurately.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a kitchen team.

• Reliable, flexible, and willing to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required.

• Good communication and teamwork skills with a professional approach to working with kitchen and front-of-house staff.

Salary Range

$65,000 – $75,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
