We design and install solar, battery storage, hot water and EV charging systems for commercial and business clients, and we're growing our commercial division to meet increasing demand for business energy solutions.

About the Role

Solar Run Ringwood is seeking a Sales Representative to join our team, responsible for the technical assessment and sale of commercial and small-to-medium business solar energy systems. This role requires a strong understanding of solar and battery technology, the ability to assess individual business sites, and the technical knowledge to recommend and configure the right system for each client's operational needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct on-site commercial property inspections to assess roof orientation, shading, structural suitability, and existing electrical infrastructure

Analyse business energy consumption data to determine appropriate system sizing and configuration

Calculate and recommend optimal solar panel, inverter, and battery storage configurations based on site assessment findings and business client requirements

Provide business clients with technical explanations of system specifications, expected performance, and energy savings

Prepare and present tailored technical proposals and quotations based on site-specific commercial assessments

Liaise with qualified business leads and prospective commercial clients to understand their energy needs and constraints

Keep up to date with product specifications, technical developments, and industry standards for commercial solar and battery systems

Coordinate with the installation team to ensure proposed system configurations are technically feasible and accurately documented

Maintain accurate records of commercial site assessments, technical recommendations, and sales activity

Meet sales targets while ensuring all recommendations are technically sound and appropriately scoped for each business site

Selection Criteria

Essential:

Relevant qualification (AQF Bachelor degree or equivalent) and/or substantial relevant industry experience in technical B2B sales

Demonstrated experience conducting technical site assessments and configuring solar/energy systems for commercial or business clients

Strong understanding of solar PV and battery storage technology

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical business clients

Ability to read and interpret site plans, electrical layouts, and energy consumption data

Full Australian driver's licence (site visits required)

Desirable:

Prior experience in the renewable energy or solar industry, particularly commercial/B2B

Experience with system design or CAD/solar design software
