BC Hardie & Co is a family-run mixed cropping and sheep farming enterprise located in Wandering, Western Australia, approximately 130 km south-east of Perth. The farm operates a diverse agricultural enterprise comprising approximately 80% broadacre cropping and 20% sheep production.

About the Role

BC Hardie & Co is seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farm Worker to join its farming operation. The successful applicant will assist with broadacre cropping, livestock management, agricultural machinery operation, farm maintenance and the day-to-day activities of the property.

The role requires an experienced farm worker who can work independently, operate a range of agricultural machinery and assist with the supervision and training of casual farm staff.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out broadacre cropping and livestock activities with minimal supervision.

Assist with the day-to-day management of cropping and sheep operations.

Work with and train casual farm workers.

Undertake livestock activities including feeding, drenching, crutching, sheep handling and general flock management.

Perform general farm labour, including constructing and maintaining fences and rock picking.

Operate agricultural machinery, including tractors, boom sprays, headers, air seeders, trucks and loaders.

Conduct routine machinery cleaning, maintenance and servicing.

Assist with machinery repairs and identify maintenance issues.

Maintain farm equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.

Perform other general cropping, livestock and farm duties as required.

Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience in broadacre cropping and livestock farming.

Practical experience in sheep handling and livestock management.

Experience operating agricultural machinery and equipment.

Knowledge of general farm maintenance, fencing and property maintenance.

Ability to perform routine machinery maintenance and basic repairs.

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Ability to work with and train casual farm workers.

Current driver's licence required; MC licence preferred.

Strong work ethic, reliability and a practical approach to farm work.
