About the role
The Production Chef is responsible for managing and performing the day to day cooking requirements.
This will mean operating our purpose built cooking room and cooking all required foods to specifications and recipes.
The Production Chef reports directly to both the Head Chef and Product Manager, so there is good opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills and career progression in this role.
The Production Chef will be required to work closely with the Kitchen Hand Team - so good management skills, interpersonal skills and a ‘team player’ attitude is a must.
The successful applicant will be a competent cook with good food knowledge and experience in cooking many different types and styles of food.
Criteria for applicants
Must be able to work full time hours
Must have a valid WA drivers license and reliable own transport (there is no public transport to Bibra Lake)
Must have Australian work rights
Essential qualifications
Must have attained a Certificate 3 or 4 or trade qualification.
Must have at least 3 years' experience in cooking meals in a restaurant, supermarket deli or food production kitchen environment.
Knowledge of HACCP (or equivalent) principals.
Essential skills
Team player, and a proven ability to manage a team.
Ability to exercise sound judgement.
Exceptional personal presentation & hygiene.
Good interpersonal communication and organisational skills.
Pays attention to detail - in terms of working to recipe specifications and QA/Audit compliance requirements.
Ability to work under pressure with pace and energy, and with effective time management to meet deadlines.
Dedicated with a 'can-do' attitude.
