Data Technician – Data Centre Cabling (UTP & Fibre)

About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Data Technician to work inside completed, operational data centres across Melbourne’s western suburbs. This role suits someone who values precision, understands the responsibility of working around critical infrastructure, and delivers disciplined, high-standard cabling work.

You’ll be installing, terminating, and testing AI-grade UTP and fibre cabling within live data centre environments — clean, organised spaces with strict procedures and zero-downtime expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

Installing and routing UTP and fibre cabling to strict standards

Terminating, testing, and documenting cabling for AI and high-density networks

Working within completed data centres with established security and access protocols

Maintaining accuracy, compliance, and professional conduct at all times

Following change-window requirements and risk-controlled work processes

What We’re Looking For

Experience in data cabling (UTP and fibre essential)

Strong attention to detail and pride in doing things properly

Ability to work in high-security, procedure-driven environments

Understanding of data centre etiquette and risk awareness

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Current cabling registration (ACMA) preferred

Fibre testing experience highly regarded
