Earthmoving Plant Operator

Grounded Construction Group is currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Earthmoving Plant Operator to join their team in Muchea WA.

The Earthmoving Plant Operator (General) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a range of earthmoving plant and equipment to support construction, civil, mining infrastructure, village construction and non-process infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for carrying out excavation, loading, levelling, grading, compaction, material handling and site preparation activities while maintaining compliance with company, client and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

- Operate a range of earthmoving plant and equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, rollers, telehandlers and other project-specific machinery.

- Excavate, load, move, spread, level and compact earth, rock, rubble and construction materials.

- Carry out bulk earthworks, trenching, backfilling, final trim and site preparation activities.

- Follow survey set-outs, design levels, drawings and project specifications.

- Select, fit and safely operate plant attachments appropriate to the task.

- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and complete required plant inspection documentation.

- Monitor plant performance and report faults, defects or maintenance requirements.

- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance within competency limits.

- Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox meetings and safety interactions.

- Work safely around personnel, mobile plant, underground services and fixed infrastructure.

- Maintain compliance with Grounded, client and statutory safety requirements.

- Assist with mobilisation, demobilisation and site establishment activities.

- Maintain housekeeping standards around work areas and equipment.

- Complete required records, checklists and reporting accurately and on time.

- Support other construction activities as directed by site supervision.

- Contribute to achieving project production, quality and safety objectives.

Skills and Abilities:

- Relevant qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate II or Certificate III, or equivalent industry experience.

- Minimum one (1) year relevant experience operating earthmoving plant and equipment.

- Current Driver’s Licence (HR – MC Role Dependant)

- Operating SOA

- Operating VOC (2 years validity)

Salary range is $75,000 - $105,000pa commensurate with experience.
