Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with statutory requirements, and provide reliable financial information to support business operations and management decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.

• Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, reconciliations and management reports.

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and financial reporting.

• Monitor cash flow, payments and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support business planning.

• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation requirements and statutory obligations.

• Liaise with auditors, tax advisers, financial institutions and internal stakeholders as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

• Relevant professional accounting qualification or progress towards one is desirable.

• Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and statutory requirements.

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
