APS3 Customer Service Officer - Front of House

About the Role

As a Front of House Customer Service Officer, you will be responsible for providing professional and efficient customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy government office.

Key responsibilities will include:

Providing face-to-face customer service and assistance

Welcoming and assisting customers in a professional manner

Managing customer enquiries and providing accurate information

Processing and checking documentation and information

Maintaining accurate records and following established procedures

Managing customer flow and appointments where required

Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Supporting general administrative duties across the team

Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high level of customer service

Adhering to government policies, procedures and relevant APS values

About You

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

Previous customer service, administration or government experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A professional, approachable and customer-focused manner

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

The ability to work effectively in a busy environment

Strong organisational and time-management skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Confidence dealing with a diverse range of customers

A strong understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive information

Previous experience within an Australian Government or APS environment will be highly regarded.

Eligibility Requirements

Australian Citizenship is mandatory

Baseline security clearance is preferred

Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo relevant security and employment screening
