Due to ongoing business requirements, we are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team on a full-time basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and project specifications to determine fabrication requirements.

-Select, prepare, measure and clean metal stock for fabrication.

-Cut and shape steel and other metal sections using hand tools, flame cutting equipment and cutting machines.

-Bend, form and shape steel sections and pipes using hand and power tools and heating techniques.

-Align and position metal components accurately using measuring instruments and fabrication equipment.

-Join metal components using welding, bolting and riveting techniques.

-Inspect welds, joints and fabricated components to ensure accuracy, strength and required quality standards.

-Perform grinding, polishing, filing and other finishing processes.

-Fabricate, assemble and repair structural steel components and other metal products.

-Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safe and organised working environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful applicant will have:

-Relevant trade qualification in metal fabrication, engineering fabrication or a related field.

-At least 1 year of relevant work experience in metal fabrication or structural steel fabrication.

-Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.

-Practical experience with fabrication, welding, cutting and metal-forming equipment.

-Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.

-Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
