ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT –?NATURAL AREAS & ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION

Greensteam Australia is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our growing environmental team in Perth.

Working across ecological restoration, bushland rehabilitation, revegetation and natural area management projects, you will provide technical environmental advice, undertake environmental assessments and regular field-based site activities, prepare reports, and support the practical delivery of sustainable environmental outcomes for local governments and commercial clients.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Greensteam in a field-based Environmental Consultant position combining on-site environmental assessment, technical reporting and stakeholder engagement while contributing to projects that genuinely improve Western Australia's natural environment.

Tasks & responsibilities

Conduct field-based ecological assessments, vegetation surveys, environmental site inspections and monitoring across natural areas and restoration sites

Prepare environmental assessments, technical reports and rehabilitation strategies

Develop environmental management recommendations and restoration plans

Monitor restoration and revegetation projects

Analyse environmental monitoring data and recommend improvements

Conduct environmental risk assessments and advise on mitigation strategies

Liaise with clients, local governments and project stakeholders

Provide technical guidance to field teams

Support environmental compliance and best practice environmental management

Assist in developing environmental management policies and operational procedures

Qualifications & experience

Essential

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology or a related discipline

Experience in ecological restoration, environmental management or natural area management

Experience preparing technical environmental reports and assessments

Strong understanding of environmental legislation and environmental management principles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical and organisational skills

Current Australian Driver's Licence

Desirable

Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) accreditation, or willingness to obtain

Experience working with local government environmental projects

Knowledge of Western Australian native vegetation and environmental weeds

Experience in bushland rehabilitation and revegetation

Experience with environmental monitoring and management plans

Knowledge of WA environmental legislation

Understanding of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Traditional Owner engagement
