Drafting Technician

We are seeking to employ DRAFTING TECHNICIAN to join our dynamic team of professionals, to play a crucial role in designing drawings for steel fabrication projects and to process plate profiling jobs to the Production Manager.

DUTIES include but are not limited to:

Understand and interpret customer requirements; including drawings, written specs and resolving tooling problems when required.

Prepare workshop drawings for the production team

Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications to conform to design concepts

Explain drawings to production teams and to provide adjustments as necessary

Prepare estimates and budgeting using computerised quotation spreadsheets supplied.

Job costing including estimating margin, labour requirements (and costs), delivery costs, calculate price, relate price to market and advise the sales team.

SKILLS and knowledge required:

Estimating skills (forming, cutting)

Ability to read engineering drawings

Industry knowledge

Good communication skills.
