Looking for Chef / Cook

Situated right in the heart of the scenic town of Stanthorpe at Vino Granito Italian Restaurant we offer our guests authentic Italian dishes.We now require a dedicated, full-time Chef/ Cook for our team.The position requires

3 years of experience as a cook in Italian cuisine.

relevant qualification in cookery

We are looking for a Chef/Cook with an excellent eye for detail who is:

Hard working, responsible and honest

Able to work under pressure and unsupervised

Able to work as a team

Able to work on weekends/ public holiday

You will be expected to preform the following duties:

Ensuring all food items are prepared in line with and meet with Vino Granito Italian restaurant standards.

Ensure when preparing food items that all recipe cards have adhered to.

Maintain quality control of all prepared food items including checking quality, freshness and presentation

Portioning food and portion control when preparing food items: Understand and control portions of pasta, meats, poultry, seafood, and dry goods.

Checking food supplies against invoices and then storing food items in correct areas and at correct temperatures.

Ensure operating and kitchen equipment/utensils are maintained, cleaned, packed away and are as per QLD Food Safety & Vino Granito standards with minimum breakage.

Comply with company policies and standards of Vino Granito Italian Restaurant

Ensure that the cool rooms, freezers, dry stores, and back of the house including waste areas are maintained and monitored daily

Ensure the minimization of food wastage

Ensure Hygiene and cleanliness of all kitchen reflective areas including garbage areas

Ensure that month-end stock takes of food stock and seasonal stock takes of ceramic wares & utensils are done

Work in any section of the kitchen when necessary due to business pressure or employee shortages

Monitor and adjust temperatures of ovens and grills

Seasoning food

Prepare dishes in line with special dietary requirements
