We are seeking experienced and qualified MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS to join our team of hardworking professionals. In this role you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install machinery and mechanical equipment. We are looking for reliable individuals with a strong commitment to positively contribute to the success of our organisation. We offer full-time permanent employment and short-term 3-6 months' non-ongoing contracts with above-award pay rates fully guaranteed under current workplace regulations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Conduct regular inspections, tests, and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation performance
Diagnose equipment failures, analyse performance, and implement efficient solutions to machine breakdowns and minimise downtime
Prepare drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers
Troubleshoot mechanical issues
Install, remove, inspect, and repair mechanical spare parts like bearings, seals on typical mechanical equipment
Perform major overhaul of equipment with or without external contractors and vendors
Disassemble, assemble, observe, repair, test, collect data and prepare reports on equipment, as tasks related to maintenance
Maintain non-electrical safety, process and utility equipment
Perform power plant rigging, and lifting equipment necessary for safely handling heavy machinery and materials
Optimise mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
Troubleshoot process equipment, automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line
Ensuring that products meet compliance regulations
Carry out work instructions as given by Supervisor, work specifications, equipment operation
Supports improvement projects
Fabricate and repair metal products and parts by using machine shop tools and equipment
Control downtime by performing routine preventative maintenance requirements, daily equipment inspections, and monitoring machine operational performance
Perform duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
Install and commission new equipment as directed
Communicate with and supporting engineers
Understand customer change request and provide schedule
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and system conditions in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Trade Qualifications and +5 years proven relevant experience
Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Strong knowledge of troubleshooting technique and problem-solving skills
Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision measuring instruments
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
Physically fit and able to work in various conditions
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
