Cook for Mexican Restaurant in Camberwell

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team at Hecho En Mexico Camberwell.

Permanent Full Time - $75,000-$82000 per year plus superannuation

We are a busy Mexican restaurant serving fresh, vibrant Mexican food in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is confident on the line, works well under pressure and takes pride in producing consistently good food.

About the Role

As part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for:

Preparing and cooking dishes according to recipes and specifications

Running your allocated section during busy services

Maintaining consistent portioning, presentation and food quality

Completing daily food preparation and mise en place

Following food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures

Maintaining a clean and organised workstation

Stock rotation and correct food storage

Monitoring stock levels and helping minimise food wastage

Completing kitchen opening and closing duties

Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams during service

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

* AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.

* At least one years of relevant experience working as a Cook in a substantial-menu

restaurant, authentic Mexican venue, or busy hospitality dining operation.

* Strong hands-on skills in traditional Mexican prep and cooking techniques (marinades,

slow cooking, salsa crafting, and grill stations).

* Proven ability to maintain consistent food quality, speed, and composure during peak à

la carte service periods.

* Sound knowledge of Australian food safety standards, HACCP principles, allergen

management, and workplace health and safety.

* Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills, with full availability for a rotating

roster across days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

A strong kitchen background, good attitude and willingness to learn are more important.
