Lead Educator (Group Leader) - Full time, Part time, Casual

About the Role

Young Minds Early Learning Centre is seeking passionate and qualified Childcare Educators and Group Leaders (ANZSCO 421111 – Child Care Worker) to join our team at our South Geelong early learning centre.

We have multiple full-time permanent positions available, working 38 hours per week across our early learning programs.

Successful applicants will contribute to the delivery of high-quality education and care for children in a supportive and professional environment. Depending on qualifications and experience, successful candidates may work as a Childcare Educator or take responsibility for leading a room as a Group Leader.

Our Group Leaders play an important role within Young Minds, leading the day-to-day operation of their room, implementing high-quality educational programs and providing guidance and mentoring to other educators.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality education, care and supervision for children in a long day care environment.

Support or lead the implementation of daily routines while ensuring children's health, safety, hygiene and wellbeing.

Plan, implement and evaluate engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Create and maintain safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environments.

Observe and document children's learning, development and wellbeing.

Guide children's behaviour and promote positive social and emotional development.

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor learning experiences.

Work collaboratively with educators, families and centre leadership to support children's learning and development.

Maintain accurate records, observations and learning documentation.

Contribute to curriculum planning, reflective practice and ongoing program evaluation.

For Group Leader positions, lead and mentor educators and oversee the effective day-to-day operation of the room.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must:

Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher recognised qualification.

Have the ability to provide high-quality education and care within an early childhood setting.

Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Have excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Be able to work effectively as part of a professional team.

Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to follow policies and procedures accurately.

Be flexible and able to work effectively in a busy early childhood environment.

Previous early childhood education and care experience is highly regarded, particularly for applicants seeking a Group Leader position.
