Farm Labourer

We require 100 workers for fruit and vegetable picking on a farm in Mareeba, QLD.

The work includes harvesting of fruit and vegetables, pruning, packaging and general maintenance duties.

Work will commence in Jan 2027 and continue for 4 years.

Successful candidates will be offered employment on a full-time basis and paid as a pieceworker or by the relevant hourly award rate, depending on the work performed (pay rates are based on the Horticultaure Award 2020 MA000028) with a starting rate as Level 1 $25.74 per hour.

Individuals must have a resilient attitude towards outdoor work, be capable of thriving in various weather conditions and be willing to accommodate flexible schedules, including weekends and early morning starts. General hours of work are between 6am and 5pm.

Physical fitness is paramount, as tasks entail lifting, bending, and carrying heavy harvest buckets on uneven terrain. You will also need to sustain positions like bending and squatting for extended periods throughout the day.

This job has opportunities for upskilling and training.

Workers must be able to pass a medical/drug test.
