Position Overview

Landsquare Homes is looking for a Civil Construction Tradeworker for carrying out structural reinforcement activities across residential construction projects. The role involves installing reinforcing steel in accordance with engineering specifications, safely operating lifting and hoisting equipment, and ensuring all construction activities are completed in compliance with project requirements and Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Operate plant and construction machinery as directed on residential and civil construction sites in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

• Carry out and assist with the installation of stormwater drainage, and associated civil infrastructure in accordance with project specifications.

• Set up, monitor and remove temporary traffic control measures to ensure the safe movement of vehicles, workers and the public around construction sites.

• Assist in coordinating site personnel and subcontractors, report site activities, and help ensure construction works are completed to the required quality standards and project timeframes.

• Implement and comply with all Work Health, Safety and Environment (WHS&E) policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

• Follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Practices (SWPs) in accordance with company policies and site requirements.

Required qualifications & skills

• Minimum Certificate III or equivalent qualification in Civil Construction, Construction, or a closely related field.

• Minimum one (1) year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, work experience in a civil construction or related role.

• Sound knowledge of civil construction techniques , earthworks and the safe operation of construction plant and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, site specifications and project documentation.

• Experience operating construction plant and equipment, implementing traffic management measures, and working safely around underground services is highly desirable.

• Applicants must hold a valid Construction Induction (White Card), comply with all relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, and be physically fit to undertake manual handling and other physically demanding construction tasks.
