Apiarist

K & K Forde Apiaries is a commercial apiary based at Young on the south-west slopes of NSW.

We are seeking an experience Apiarist/Beekeeper to join our team.

This is a full-time permanent position, offering a salary of $80,000 p.a.

The position involves working away from home base as required during the season and involves all aspects of beekeeping, including:

• Hive management including monitoring and maintaining the health of the bees

• Queen rearing and replacement

• Harvesting and extracting honey

• Co-ordinating with farmers for pollination services

• General hive maintenance

• Transportation of hives

The position involves heavy work and long hours as required.

The successful applicant must have a sound knowledge of beekeeping with a minimum 2-3 years skilled experience, plus a good work ethic and attention to detail. A motor vehicle or truck licence is essential .
