Position: Developer Programmer

Salary: $90,000 to $105,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Mode: Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Developer Programmer to design, develop, maintain and improve software applications and supporting systems used by the organisation.

About the Role

The Developer Programmer will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into functional software solutions. The position will involve developing and modifying application code, testing and troubleshooting software, implementing appropriate security controls, and preparing technical documentation to support reliable and secure system operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and system requirements and translate them into functional software solutions for Bookyana’s operational and service-delivery needs.

• Develop, maintain and modify software applications, including coding based on technical specifications, system designs and functional requirements.

• Interpret technical designs, specifications and flow charts to develop and implement reliable application features and system improvements.

• Test, debug and troubleshoot software applications, identifying and resolving coding, performance and functionality issues.

• Implement appropriate cybersecurity measures, including secure data handling, access controls and encryption, to protect participant and organisational information.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system specifications and user procedures for software applications.

• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities to improve system functionality, reliability and efficiency.

• Work with internal staff to understand operational requirements and provide technical solutions that support participant management, reporting, service coordination and other business processes.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in Software Development, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software/application development.

Skills & Other Requirements:

• Strong programming, debugging and software testing capabilities.

• Experience developing, maintaining and modifying software applications.

• Understanding of software development methodologies, technical specifications and system design.

• Knowledge of application security principles, encryption and secure software development practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate business needs into functional software solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and other stakeholders.
