- Full time opportunity working 38 hours per week

Founded by Jagdeep Singh, JSD Construction manages the full journey in-house - site assessment, council approvals, structural build, carpentry, joinery and premium interior finishing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and building plans.
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plywood, and other construction materials.
- Constructing and installing building frameworks such as walls, floors, roofs and staircases.
- Installing doors, windows, cabinets, shelves, and other wooden fixtures.
- Repairing and renovating damaged wooden structures and furniture.
- Operating and maintaining hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
- Ensuring all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Estimating materials requirements and minimizing waste.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other construction workers to complete projects on time.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures to prevent accidents.
Applicants must have:
- Formal qualification of Certificate III in Carpentry
- Proficiency in woodworking tools and equipment
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills
- Attention to detail and precision
- Physical strength and stamina
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Time management and teamwork
- Knowledge of construction methods and safety standards
- Minimum one year of experience
Ideally you'll have knowledge of using a range of hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment and construction systems, including:
- Hammers, chisels, hand saws, screwdrivers, levels, squares and measuring tapes.
- Circular saws, mitre saws, drills, impact drivers, jigsaws and reciprocating saws.
- Nail guns, fastening equipment and other carpentry power tools.
- Laser levels, spirit levels and construction set-out equipment.
- Ladders, trestles, scaffolding and other approved access equipment.
- Timber framing, flooring, roofing and fit-out systems.
- Timber, engineered timber, plywood, MDF and other construction materials.
- Fixings, fasteners, adhesives and sealants.
- Architectural and structural drawings, plans and specifications.
- Workplace health and safety systems, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, hard hat, high-visibility clothing, gloves, eye and hearing protection.
