Integritas Accoutants And Advisers Pty Ltd As an experienced member of the accounting team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for working with clients to foster future and ongoing work. Responsibilities include advising and consulting with clients, helping businesses and individuals create strategies for dealing with tax and prepare for their future in the financial market, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Task & responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting and statutory requirements. Analyse financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss reports, revenue and expenditure trends to identify financial issues, taxation risks and opportunities for clients. Prepare and review income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, ensuring compliance with relevant taxation legislation and reporting requirements.
Provide financial and taxation advice to clients in relation to business structures, plans and operations, including the financial and taxation implications of proposed business decisions. Assist with complex taxation and advisory matters, including Division 7A loan arrangements, trust distribution planning, capital gains tax events, small business concessions, franked dividend strategies and SMSF compliance, where applicable.
Manage and review accounting and compliance work for a portfolio of clients, including financial statements, taxation returns and associated workpapers, ensuring work is accurate and completed within required deadlines. Prepare and oversee Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), GST and other ongoing statutory and taxation compliance obligations. Liaise directly with clients to obtain and analyse financial information, explain accounting and taxation outcomes, identify issues and provide appropriate professional advice.
Liaise and correspond with the Australian Taxation Office and other relevant regulatory authorities regarding assessments, compliance matters, objections and other accounting or taxation matters. Review client accounting systems, financial records and internal accounting processes to identify discrepancies, maintain data integrity and ensure appropriate record-keeping and compliance requirements are met. Advise clients on the introduction, maintenance and effective use of accounting systems and computer-based accounting software, including Xero and other relevant accounting platforms.
Assist in formulating and reviewing budgetary and accounting policies and prepare cash-flow forecasts, financial projections, business plans and other financial reports to support client planning and decision-making. Evaluate clients' business operations and financial performance, including income, expenditure, financial commitments and cash-flow trends, and identify opportunities to improve financial management and business performance.
Assist with audit preparation and incidental audit requirements by preparing and reviewing supporting financial information, workpapers and records and responding to relevant enquiries. Provide technical accounting and taxation guidance to junior team members where required, review work for accuracy and compliance, and contribute to the consistent delivery of high-quality professional accounting services. Maintain current knowledge of relevant accounting standards, taxation legislation, regulatory requirements and ATO guidance and apply changes appropriately when providing accounting and advisory services to clients.
Contribute to the development and improvement of internal accounting processes, quality-control procedures and client service practices to support accurate, efficient and compliant delivery of professional services. Qualification & experience Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a highly relevant discipline such as Accounting. At least 1 to 2 years experience.
