About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to join a dynamic perioperative team and contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality care to patients throughout their surgical journey.

Working alongside Registered Nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will gain valuable experience in the perioperative environment while being supported to develop your clinical skills and confidence. Whether you are an experienced theatre Enrolled Nurse or looking to develop your skills in perioperative nursing, you'll be supported by experienced clinicians who are committed to your professional development.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Enrolled Nurse within the Theatre team, you will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and within your scope of practice to provide safe, person-centred care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Supporting patients throughout their perioperative journey.

Assisting with preparation of the operating theatre and equipment.

Performing in the roles of Anaesthetic, PACU, Instrument and Circulating Registered Nurses as competence is achieved in roles.

Assisting with patient positioning, transfers and preparation for procedures.

Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient theatre environment.

Supporting infection prevention and control practices.

Undertaking delegated clinical duties within your scope of practice.

Monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.

Maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Participating in education, competency development and quality improvement activities.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge across different surgical specialties and build a strong foundation in perioperative nursing practice.

Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.

Previous perioperative experience is desirable but not essential, with support and education available for the right candidate.

Essential Requirements

Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.

Ability to work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Demonstrated commitment to working within scope of practice.

Commitment to safe, person-centred care.

Willingness to participate in relevant education and competency development.

Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster with on call as required
