What you'll be doing

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of the highest quality care to the newborn, infant and paediatric patient and their families. The Registered Nurse will be required to participate in all types of retrievals (statewide, interstate and some international) including nurse led retrievals in all modes of transport. They will also be required to undertake relevant safety training. Other key functions of this position include clinical coordination, completion of organization specific mandatory training and tertiary clinical placements to assist with advanced techniques that will enhance skill development.

Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Recent clinical experience in neonatal and or paediatric intensive care or a retrieval service that transported acutely ill neonates and children.

Extensive experience in managing a critically ill ventilated neonatal or paediatric patient

Proficient in planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating nursing care of the critically ill or injured neonate or paediatric patient

Demonstrated strong leadership skills in providing safe, effective and professional standards of care

Ability to function effectively both independently and as a team member

Ability to provide effective and accurate information through exceptional communication skills, which includes computer literacy

Ability to demonstrate a level of physical fitness to complete relevant vehicle, rotary wing and fixed wing training including Emergency egress and Sea Survival training
