Retail Pharmacist

Barooga St George Discount Pharmacy NADY PHARMACEUTICAL PTY. LTD. is seeking a qualified and dedicated Retail Pharmacist to join its pharmacy team. The Retail Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications accurately and safely, providing professional advice to patients, maintaining appropriate medication and prescription records, and supporting the effective day-to-day operation of the pharmacy.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound pharmaceutical knowledge, effective communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality pharmacy services to customers and the wider community. Task & responsibilities Receiving and reviewing prescriptions and checking patients' medication histories before dispensing.

Assessing appropriate dosage, administration methods, potential drug interactions, and medication compatibility. Preparing, dispensing, or supervising the preparation and labelling of prescription medicines, including tablets, powders, ointments, liquid medicines, and other pharmaceutical products. Providing patients with professional advice regarding the correct use of medications, including drug incompatibilities and contraindications.

Maintaining accurate prescription records and appropriate records relating to narcotics, poisons, and habit-forming medications. Ensuring vaccines, serums, medicines, and other pharmaceutical products requiring special storage are appropriately stored and preserved. Supplying non-prescription medicines and relevant diagnostic and therapeutic products.

Assisting customers with suitable over-the-counter medicines and pharmacy products within the scope of professional pharmacy practice. Supervising and coordinating the work of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy sales assistants. Supporting efficient workflow and high standards of service within the pharmacy.

Maintaining accuracy and professionalism when dispensing medicines and communicating with patients. Qualification & experience A Bachelor, Master, or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy program. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience as a Retail Pharmacist or in a similar pharmacy role is required.

An active and valid pharmacy licence/registration with the relevant authority. Previous experience working within a retail pharmacy environment, preferably in a similar position. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
