Your new company Hays is proud to be partnering with a well-established civil construction company based on the southern Sunshine Coast. Delivering services across the development and transport infrastructure sectors, our client is seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Administration Officer to join their close-knit team at their Head Office in Bells Creek. Your new role
This is a permanent part-time position working 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday). Reporting to the Accountant, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll function including:
Coordinating weekly payroll processing, ensuring accurate payment of wages, superannuation and associated deductions
Process employee changes, including new starters, terminations, transfers and salary adjustments
Ensuring compliance with relevant Awards and EBAs, with support from the Accountant as needed
Managing payroll reporting and statutory compliance requirements
In addition to this, you will support the Accountant with accounts payable functions, including:
Processing payments accurately and within required deadlines
Reviewing and resolving accounts payable exceptions and discrepancies
Performing quality checks on transactions prior to payment processing
Reconciling business expenses, including fuel cards, corporate credit cards and other operational costs.
The role also includes general administration duties such as:
Answering and directing incoming phone calls
Receiving and sorting incoming mail
Providing general administrative support to the wider team.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll processing
Experience using payroll and accounting software
Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards and payroll compliance requirements
Friendly and approachable manner, with strong customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work unsupervised as well as within the team
