An exceptional opportunity has become available for an experienced Clinical Dietitian to join a dedicated Mental Health Allied Health team located on the Northern Beaches . This part-time role, consisting of 15.2 hours per week , is situated within a modern healthcare facility that provides psychiatric care to both public and private patients . The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing patient recovery by providing comprehensive nutritional assessments and evidence-based interventions tailored to a diverse mental health population.
The Role and Responsibilities
The appointed Dietitian will be responsible for delivering a high standard of clinical care to admitted inpatients, ensuring all nutritional requirements are met to improve overall health outcomes. This position requires seamless collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatric nurses, doctors, and support staff. Beyond clinical assessments, the role involves providing essential dietary counseling and education to patients, helping them navigate their nutritional needs throughout their recovery journey.
Selection Criteria and Requirements
Applicants must hold a Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (or an equivalent qualification) that satisfies the requirements for full membership with the Dietitians Australia . A minimum of two years of acute care clinical experience specifically within the mental health sector is required. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed counseling skills, the ability to manage a busy workload independently, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
