Perth Waterfront Pty Ltd The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard, maintaining consistent food quality and presentation, contributing to menu preparation, and working closely with the kitchen team to deliver efficient service. Benefits Task & responsibilities Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and other kitchen staff during preparation and service.

Allocate duties and monitor kitchen workflow to ensure meals are produced efficiently and to the required standard. Monitor the quality, presentation, portioning and consistency of dishes before service. Assist with planning menus, daily specials and seasonal menu items in consultation with senior kitchen staff and management.

Provide guidance and instruction to cooks and junior kitchen staff on preparation methods, cooking techniques and presentation standards. Monitor stock levels, ingredient usage and food wastage, and assist with ordering and stock rotation. Ensure ingredients and prepared food are stored correctly and maintained at appropriate quality and safety standards.

Maintain and enforce food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness requirements. Coordinate food preparation for regular service, functions and group bookings. Assist in identifying and resolving kitchen operational issues during busy service periods.

Prepare and cook dishes where required as part of the overall operation of the kitchen. Qualification & experience About You A relevant commercial cookery qualification is preferred. Applicants without a relevant formal qualification should have at least three years of relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.

You will have strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques, menu execution, food safety and hygiene practices, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining consistent food quality and presentation. You must be reliable, organised, able to coordinate kitchen tasks and work effectively as part of a team. Availability to work a flexible roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, is required.
