Software Engineer - Full-Time

Marquistech provides services for Mobile Handset Application Development and Testing. As a Software Engineer you will be undertaking the following duties: To consult with users to determine their requirements in relation to operational feasibility by evaluating problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

To research, design, write, modify software, software applications and systems using various software development methodologies. To test and improve software applications and systems through the testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting of errors and faults within established protocols and guidelines. To undertake the development, testing, installation and modification of operating systems, utilities and other software and also integrating existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together.

Managing the software development lifecycle and monitoring system performance. To create technical specifications, writing systems to control the scheduling of jobs or to control the access allowed to users or remote systems writing operational documentation with technical authors. The position will report to the Director.

The job will be full time, with hours to be worked between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Successful applicants must have: Qualifications: Relevant bachelor’s degree qualification or higher. Experience: 5 years previous experience or more in a similar role in lieu of formal qualification.

Skills: Strong familiarity with the digital environment using Agile / Scrum methodology. Strong OO design & development skills and modern software engineering practices Spring Boot, Linux, relational databases and JPA/Hibernate, Cloud providers & technologies like AWS, Azure, S3, Docker Performance Goals: Complete tasks on time Deal with clients, stakeholders and other employees professionally at all times work independently and make necessary decisions throughout the systems process within established guidelines.
