Beef Cattle Farm Worker (All-Rounder)

The Trustee for YANREY CATTLE TRUST We are seeking a long-term Beef Cattle Farm Worker (All Rounder) to join our small, hardworking team on a remote cattle station in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This position would ideally suit a single applicant, as single accommodation only is available . This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys station life, has a positive attitude and is willing to turn their hand to whatever needs doing.

Duties include, but are not limited to: • Assisting with monitoring and maintaining the health of livestock • Regularly patrolling and reporting on the health and condition of livestock • Managing feed and water provision for livestock • Assisting with birthing and rearing young livestock • Mustering livestock • Marking, foot paring and hoof care of calves • Horse work, including mustering, feeding, watering and keeping equipment organised and clean • Regular exercising of horses • Motorbike riding for mustering, including equipment maintenance and servicing • Fencing, water runs and general station maintenance • Machinery operation • Gardening and assisting around the homestead when required The successful applicant must have horse expertise and experience in solar pump repairs, maintaining general farm machinery, water supply and irrigation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on various farming projects.

Qualifications AQF Certificate II or III, or at least 12 months of relevant work experience. The station runs approximately 2,500 breeding cows, along with heifers and steers, and is operated by a small, hardworking team. Located in a remote part of the Pilbara, station life means experiencing extremely hot summers, with temperatures reaching up to 49°C, and mild winters.
