Casa Comida Pty Ltd, trading as Brazilian Flame Bar & Grill, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced full-time Cook to join our kitchen team in Surfers Paradise.

Brazilian Flame is a busy Brazilian churrascaria and rodizio restaurant offering traditional fire-roasted meats, Brazilian dishes and Australian specialities in a high-volume hospitality environment.

Salary: 79,423 per annum plus superannuation

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Preparing, seasoning and cooking food in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards

Preparing and cooking Brazilian-style dishes, accompaniments and fire-roasted meats

Operating grills, ovens and other commercial kitchen equipment

Monitoring food quality, presentation, portion control and consistency

Preparing ingredients and organising assigned kitchen sections before service

Coordinating preparation and cooking times during busy services

Monitoring stock levels and advising kitchen management of ordering requirements

Minimising food waste and maintaining appropriate portion controls

Ensuring ingredients and prepared foods are stored safely and correctly

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and food-storage areas

Complying with food-safety and workplace health and safety requirements

Assisting with the training and supervision of junior kitchen employees

Working closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and other kitchen team members

Performing effectively during busy evening, weekend and public-holiday services

Applicants should possess:

A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification

At least two years of relevant commercial cooking experience

Experience working in a busy, high-volume restaurant kitchen

Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements

Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills

The ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency

Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

Experience with Brazilian cuisine, churrasco, rodizio service or charcoal and flame cooking would be highly regarded.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Brazilian Flame Bar & Grill in Surfers Paradise.
