Grader Operator

Grounded Construction Group is currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Grader Operator to join their team in Muchea WA.

The Grader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of graders to carry out site preparation, road construction, final trim, drainage works and finishing activities across construction, civil, mining infrastructure and non-process infrastructure (NPI) projects. The role is responsible for producing accurate finished levels and surfaces while maintaining compliance with company, client and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

- Operate graders safely and efficiently to carry out bulk earthworks, road construction and maintenance activities.

- Perform final trim grading to achieve specified design levels and tolerances.

- Spread, level and shape soil, gravel, crushed rock and other construction materials.

- Cut batters, table drains, swales and drainage channels in accordance with project requirements.

- Read and work from construction drawings, survey pegs, GPS machine control systems and verbal instructions.

- Set and maintain accurate grades, crossfalls and finished surfaces.

- Monitor grader performance and adjust blade angle, articulation and controls to achieve required outcomes.

- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and complete required plant inspection documentation.

- Report defects and carry out routine servicing, lubrication and minor maintenance within competency limits.

- Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox meetings and safety interactions.

- Maintain safe exclusion zones and operate safely around personnel, mobile plant and underground services.

- Maintain compliance with Grounded, client and statutory safety requirements.

- Complete required records, plant logs and production documentation accurately.

- Assist with site establishment and other construction activities where required.

- Maintain housekeeping standards around work areas and equipment.

- Contribute to achieving project production, quality and safety objectives.

Skills and Abilities:

- Relevant qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate II or Certificate III, or equivalent industry experience.

- Minimum one (1) year relevant experience operating graders.

- Current Driver’s Licence (HR – MC Role Dependant)

- Operating SOA

- Operating VOC (2 years validity)

Salary range is $75,000 - $105,000pa commensurate with experience.
