Motor Mechanic / Technician

MNS Auto Group Pty Ltd is looking for a Qualified Automotive Mechanic and a Third-Year Automotive Mechanic Apprentice to join our growing team.

Location: Northern BM Preston, Auto Care Centre Portland, Auto Care Centre Maddingley

Available Positions:

Qualified Automotive Mechanic – Minimum of five years' experience.

Third-Year Automotive Mechanic Apprentice – Minimum of three years' experience in the trade.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair various makes and models of automotive vehicles.

Identify faults, recommend, and implement the best possible solutions.

Perform mechanical repairs, including periodic servicing, brake repairs, clutches, and timing belt replacements.

Conduct inspections and run diagnostic tests to detect functional issues.

Dismantle, replace, or repair defective parts and equipment.

Change engine and transmission oils and conduct final quality checks before returning vehicles to customers.

Perform roadworthy testing.

Adhere to work safety guidelines, report hazards, and maintain a clean and organized workshop.

Train and mentor apprentices and other workshop staff as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualified Automotive Mechanic:

Australian Qualifications – Certificate III + 2 years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV with 3 years of experience.

Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

AC Handling License is an advantage but not essential.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

European vehicle experience is highly regarded but not essential.

A current driver’s license (additional licenses are an advantage).

Third-Year Apprentice:

Minimum of three years' experience in the trade.

Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.

Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.

Willingness to gain experience across multiple workshop locations if required.
