We are seeking to employ experienced Floor Finisher-Tiler to join our team of dedicated professionals. We are looking for hardworking individuals who can meet company challenges and surpass client expectations.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Read plans and instructions of specific projects
Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces
Apply waterproofing systems
Use tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles to fit around edges, corners, fittings and pipes
Measure areas to be covered and consulting plans to estimate quantities of floor covering materials required
Remove existing flooring and discarding of this material, if applicable
Clearing the work surface from dust, debris, and obstructions
Cleaning and leveling the surface area
Spread adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, sets tiles into position, and ensures they are correctly aligned and spaced
Measuring, precise cutting and fixing underlay materials
Laying coverings, such as wood, carpets, linoleum, parquetry blocks, cork tiles and other resilient flooring materials, over floors, matching patterns, cutting shapes around fixtures and trimming edges
Installs and secures tiles, and applies grout and polish to tiled surfaces including floor coverings and fitting edge trims in doorways
Sanding, staining and applying finishing coatings to timber floors
Completing the installation by applying appropriate finishes
May install wall, ceiling, counter and bench coverings
Managing stock of components parts
Managing quality control of all products
Ensure safe workplace, general warehouse upkeep
Strict compliance with company protocols and consistent observance of established safety standards
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
Trade qualified
Knowledge in operating wide range of hand tools and power tools
Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace
Physically fit and able to lift large, heavy equipment and materials
Strong communication skills
Excellent reporting skills
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
