The purpose of this position is to provide clients with high-quality domestic services that support individual needs, enhance independence, improve safety, and contribute to overall wellbeing and quality of life. Services are delivered in line with Subee’s client-centred approach, policies, and procedures, supporting each client’s individual goals and aspirations.

The Domestic Cleaner works with a level of autonomy appropriate to their skills, training, and experience, while adhering to Subee’s policies, procedures, and work instructions.

The role requires the ability to:

• Assess cleaning tasks within the agreed service scope and client care plan.

• Use sound judgement to identify hazards, risks, or issues that may impact safety, hygiene standards, service quality, or client satisfaction.

• Escalate concerns, incidents, equipment faults, maintenance issues, or out-of-scope requests to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner.

• Adapt cleaning services to meet varying client needs while maintaining professional boundaries, infection control standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

Essential

• Valid Driver’s Licence

• NDIS Workers Screening Check

• Working with Children Check

• First Aid & CPR certificate

Desirable

• Knowledge of Aged Care/Disability sectors

The Domestic Team Member is required to demonstrate the following competencies and experience:

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to safely handle and operate cleaning equipment and machinery.

• Physical capacity to walk, bend, push, pull, and lift repetitively during working hours.

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, including correct use, storage, disposal methods, and the ability to interpret and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS).

• Understanding of chemical safety, hazard identification, and incident reporting requirements relating to hazardous substances.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete required tasks without direct supervision.

• Ability to complete documentation, incident reports, and service records in a timely and concise manner.

• Ability to follow defined Work Health and Safety (WHS) and injury management policies and procedures relevant to the role, and to take all reasonable care for the safety and wellbeing of clients, colleagues, and others in the workplace.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.

Cleaning duties may vary in accordance with the client’s individual needs and agreed service plan. General Cleaning duties can include:

• Clean and sanitise furniture, fixtures, fittings, and surfaces throughout the home.

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as required.

• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.

• Clean internal appliances including fridges/freezers (as required within service scope).

• Clean sliding doors, window tracks, skirting boards, window frames, sills, architraves, picture rails, cupboard tops, and both sides of doors.

• Clean wardrobes, shelves, drawers, mirrored doors, and remove scuff marks where possible.

• Remove cobwebs, insect marks, and nests from walls, ceilings, and light fittings (where safely accessible).

• Clean inside and outside of cupboards and drawers.

• Clean kitchen areas including sink, tapware, stove (inside, outside and surrounding areas), oven, griller, trays, racks, and glass surfaces.

• Clean bathroom areas including toilet, bath, shower recess, shower screens, tiles (including removal of soap

residue), sink, tapware, towel rails, and water outlets (removal of hair and soap build-up).

• Wash or replace shower curtains where applicable and within service scope.

• Change bed linen as required.

• Complete laundry tasks including washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes.

• Wash dishes and maintain general kitchen cleanliness

Availability for this position is Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm
