Experienced Fitter for Trailer Manufacturer

To increase our workshop output and continue to grow, Victorian Trailers Pty Ltd requires a number of experienced industrial / mechanic fitters for Monday to Friday role (minimum 38 hours per week) with overtime and Saturday shifts available. This position suits a mechanically-minded person that comes up with on the spot solutions to ensure the safe and effective running of the business.

Your main responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Demonstrated knowledge in the use and care of technical equipment and power tools

- Assembling trailer parts to its mechanical specifications

- Wiring trailer lights

- Fitting cages to trailers

- Fitting hubs and wheels to trailers

- Bleeding brakes

- Grinding, bending, cutting material to design and specifications

- Loading and unloading trucks

- Some heavy lifting involve

- Planning, organising and prioritising your daily tasks

- Awareness of occupational hazards and application of appropriate control measures

- Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times

- Reporting to the production supervisor

- Occasional trouble shooting and fault repairs

- Clean and maintain a safe and tidy work station

Essential:

- Industrial and Mechanical Fitting qualification (Certificate 3 of Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent)

- MUST demonstrate industrial and mechanical fitting knowledge and experience (2 years and more)

- Ability to work in a team or independently, unsupervised and with a professional attitude

- Quality focused with a good eye for details

- Thorough understanding and compliance with OH&S in the work place

- MUST be available for an immediate start

- Physical fitness for manual work

- Great work ethic

In return we offer a full-time salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus Superannuation.
