Placed.au is looking for a full-time Hospitality Operations & Mobile Venue Manager for our client in Trevallyn, Tasmania. This role is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of hospitality, service, and logistical operations for a fast-growing mobile food business specialising in authentic Spanish Paella. The role ensures smooth operations, high service standards, compliance, and profitability across fixed and mobile venues while supporting business growth through new site development, catering bookings, and event partnerships.

Job Description

• Oversee day-to-day operations across different markets and catering services.

• Coordinate logistics, rostering, and service readiness across all venues, ensuring consistent quality and compliance.

• Manage scheduling, setup, and operational delivery for market days, special events, and private catering functions.

• Develop and maintain operational procedures for food handling, service delivery, and site logistics.

• Ensure the readiness and maintenance of mobile food trucks, equipment, and stock.

• Identify and evaluate new trading locations, festivals, and market opportunities to support business expansion.

• Oversee the operational setup and compliance preparation for further mobile food truck launches.

• Liaise with councils, market organisers, and private landholders to negotiate site access, permits, and trading rights.

• Conduct feasibility assessments and logistical planning for future site activations.

• Manage all aspects of catering services from booking through to delivery, ensuring seamless coordination and customer satisfaction.

• Liaise directly with clients to tailor menus, service styles, and event logistics.

• Plan staffing, transportation, and setup for off-site catering jobs, ensuring high-quality presentation and service delivery.

• Coordinate marketing and social media updates for catering and event promotions in collaboration with the marketing team.

• Recruit, train, and roster staff across multiple sites to ensure appropriate coverage and service consistency.

• Provide ongoing leadership, mentoring, and performance feedback to build a cohesive, service-oriented team.

• Ensure all staff are trained in food handling, customer service, and safety protocols.

• Manage venue budgets, sales targets, and expense tracking across all locations.

• Oversee supplier relations, ordering, and stock management to maintain profitability and reduce wastage.

• Monitor performance data, prepare reports, and recommend operational improvements.

• Support compliance and documentation for mobile trading permits, health inspections, and insurance renewals.

• Ensure compliance with health, food safety, and mobile trading regulations and maintain current licences, certifications, and council permits.

• Oversee workplace safety protocols and conduct periodic inspections to minimise operational risk.

• Maintain high customer service standards and brand consistency across all venues.

• Address and resolve customer feedback or issues promptly and professionally.

• Supervise service quality and presentation at markets and catering events to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications / Attributes

• Must hold an Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

• Must possess at least three (3) years of relevant work experience managing hospitality operations, mobile food operations, catering, or similar services.

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-site hospitality or mobile food operations.

• Strong knowledge of mobile venue logistics, event operations, and catering coordination.

• Proven leadership and team management skills with an emphasis on training and service culture.

• Sound commercial and budgeting skills, including cost control and profitability tracking.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills for managing suppliers, staff, clients, councils, and other external stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of food handling, food safety, workplace safety, and mobile trading requirements.

• Ability to manage multiple venues, events, and operational priorities effectively.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound operational decisions.

• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and during event schedules.

• Current Food Safety Supervisor certification and driver's licence are preferred.

Salary Range

$80,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
