ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, Starr Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Aged and Disabled Carer to join our team in South Hedland, WA.

The successful candidate will provide care and support to aged and disabled individuals, assisting them with daily living activities and personal care while promoting their independence, dignity, wellbeing and quality of life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide personal care and support to aged and disabled clients.

• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and other personal hygiene needs.

• Assist with mobility and transfers where required.

• Support clients with meal preparation and feeding where necessary.

• Assist with household duties, shopping, appointments and other daily activities.

• Provide companionship and emotional support.

• Assist clients to participate in social, recreational and community activities.

• Encourage and support clients to maintain independence and develop daily living skills.

• Follow individual care and support plans.

• Monitor clients' wellbeing and report any changes in their condition or circumstances.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to client care.

• Maintain client privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times.

• Follow workplace health and safety, infection control and other relevant policies and procedures.

• Work collaboratively with other staff, clients, families and relevant service providers.

• Respond appropriately to individual care needs and challenging situations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant experience in aged care, disability care, community care or a similar support role.

• Ability to provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities.

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.

• Current Criminal History Check.

• Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence.

• Australian working rights.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Understanding of the needs of aged and disabled individuals.

• Good communication and documentation skills.
