Salary: $77,000 to $80,000 + Superannuation

About the Role

Discovery at Play Early Learning - Shoalwater Centre is seeking a passionate and experienced Educator to join our team in Shoalwater, WA 6169. This is a full-time position offering a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on children's development and learning outcomes.

As an Advanced Educator, you will work directly with children to provide high-quality education and care in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. Drawing on your Diploma-level qualification and experience in early childhood education, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate learning experiences and provide responsive care that meets the individual needs of each child.

This role is suited to an experienced and qualified educator who is passionate about working directly with children and contributing positively to their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and comfort at all times.

- Plan, implement and evaluate play-based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, language and physical development.

- Observe and document children's learning, interests and developmental progress and contribute to individualised learning plans.

- Support children's daily routines and personal care needs, including hygiene, meals, rest and other routine care activities.

- Create and maintain clean, safe, welcoming and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments that encourage exploration, creativity and play.

- Support children's social and emotional development by modelling positive behaviours, encouraging independence and using appropriate behaviour guidance strategies.

- Recognise and respond to the individual needs, abilities and developmental levels of children and provide inclusive and responsive care.

- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and communicate with families about their children's learning, interests, routines and development.

- Work collaboratively with other educators to implement the Centre's educational program, routines, policies and procedures.

- Contribute ideas, activities and resources to support the Centre's educational program and children's learning experiences.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to children's learning, development and care.

- Follow all relevant health, safety, hygiene and supervision requirements and respond appropriately to illness, accidents or emergencies.

- Participate in staff meetings, professional development and continuous learning activities to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and practice.

- Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality and appropriate boundaries when working with children, families and colleagues.

What We're Looking For

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification.

- Minimum 3 years' Full-time or equivalent experience working directly with children in an early childhood education and care setting.

- Sound knowledge of child development and the ability to provide developmentally appropriate care and learning experiences.

- Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and play-based, child-centred learning approaches.

- Experience observing and documenting children's learning and contributing to educational programs.

- Ability to recognise and respond to children's individual needs, interests and developmental levels.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of an early childhood education team.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- Genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.

- Current Working with Children Check.

- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
