Value Care Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Aged or Disabled Carer to join our team in South Australia. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to aged and/or disabled clients, assisting them with daily living activities while promoting their independence, dignity, wellbeing and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person-centred care and support to aged and disabled clients in their homes and community settings.
Assist clients with daily personal activities, including dressing, grooming and personal hygiene.
Support clients with mobility and movement, including assisting them to safely access community activities.
Prepare and serve meals according to clients' dietary requirements and preferences.
Provide companionship, friendship and emotional support to clients.
Assist clients to participate in social, recreational and community activities.
Perform general household duties such as cleaning, vacuuming, laundry and maintaining a safe living environment.
Assist clients with shopping, appointments and other essential errands where required.
Encourage clients to maintain independence and participate in activities appropriate to their individual abilities.
Follow individual care plans and workplace procedures when providing support.
Observe and report changes in clients' physical, emotional or behavioural wellbeing to relevant supervisors or care professionals.
Maintain accurate records relating to client support and daily activities.
Respect clients' privacy, dignity, cultural preferences and individual choices at all times.
Follow workplace health and safety, infection control and other relevant care procedures.
Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators and other care professionals where required.
Essential Skills and Requirements
Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) or equivalent.
Relevant experience in aged care, disability support, personal care or community services will be highly regarded.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to supporting clients.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a care team.
Ability to undertake personal care, mobility assistance and household support duties.
Understanding of person-centred care and maintaining client dignity and independence.
Current First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
Current police check and Working with Vulnerable People/NDIS-related screening where applicable.
Australian working rights.
