Electrical Engineer

Electrical / Power Systems Engineer – Power System Studies & Dynamic Modelling

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical / Power Systems Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, particularly in power system modelling, simulation, technical studies, protection, testing and commissioning across power generation, transmission and distribution projects.

Candidates with expert-level capability in building power system simulation models using DigSILENT PowerFactory or ETAP and conducting technical power system studies will be highly regarded.

Key Requirements

* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical or power systems engineering

* Strong experience in power system modelling, simulation and technical studies

* Advanced or expert-level proficiency in DigSILENT PowerFactory and/or ETAP

* Experience in power generation, transmission and/or distribution systems

* Strong understanding of HV and LV electrical systems

* Experience preparing and reviewing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics and technical documentation

* Experience in design, protection, testing & commissioning and/or construction will be highly regarded

Power System Studies & Dynamic Modelling

We are particularly interested in candidates with hands-on experience developing simulation models and conducting dynamic power system studies, including:

1. Transient Stability Studies

2. Voltage Stability Studies

3. Frequency Stability Studies

4. RMS Dynamic Modelling

5. Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) Studies

6. Protection & Fault Response Dynamic Studies

Experience developing, validating and analysing dynamic models for complex power networks, generators, inverter-based resources or renewable energy systems will be highly regarded.

Design & Engineering Experience

Experience in some or all of the following areas:

* LV & HV switchboards

* Kiosk substations & switchrooms

* Protection relays & communication systems

* VSDs & control panel wiring

* Protection and control systems

* Power system modelling and simulation

Testing & Commissioning Experience

Hands-on experience with:

* Transformers: IR, PI, DLA, TTR, winding resistance and oil sampling

* RMUs: Injection testing, Ductor testing and Hipot testing

* LV switchboards: ACB testing, insulation resistance and trip testing

* Protection relay testing and commissioning

* Fault finding and troubleshooting
