Accountant and Client Service Manager

About the role
This role plays a key part in managing clients' financial records, ensuring compliance obligations are met, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. In addition to the accounting responsibilities, the successful candidate will act as a primary point of contact for clients, helping to build strong relationships and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Preparing and reviewing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports to support business decision-making
Examine business income, direct costs, operating costs, and financial performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Ensuring compliance obligations, including BAS, payroll tax, STP, superannuation and other regulatory requirements, are completed accurately and on time
Collaborating with the client management team to develop and maintain budgeting, financial control, and accounting policies
Assessing financial reports for accuracy and adherence to statutory and reporting obligations
Acting as the primary contact for clients and responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner
Implementing and maintaining accounting systems, and providing advice on the selection, configuration, and effective use of accounting software and related apps and technologies
Assisting client projects such as business restructuring, financing, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency, and other special projects where required, and coordinating service delivery across the team and partners
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices
Supporting, mentoring, and overseeing accounting team members to ensure quality and timely service delivery
About you
Minimum 3 years' experience with demonstrated experience managing client relationships and reviewing the work of junior team members in accounting firm
CPA/CA qualified (or actively studying)
Advanced Syft Advisor Certification is a must
Comfortable communicating directly with business owners, management team, participating in client meetings, identifying issues proactively, and providing practical recommendations
Utilizing emerging AI-driven auditing tools and business intelligence dashboards such as Power BI
Strong organisation, analytical skills and attention to details
Ability to work to time constraints and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
A learning mindset and striving to take ownership of the given tasks
