Job Overview

FORREST RD FRESH is a supermarket in Armadale offering a wide range of grocery, fresh food, meat, fruit and vegetable products to retail customers. In addition to its supermarket operations, the business supplies fresh vegetables, meat products and other food items to local small businesses, including vegetable shops, meat shops, kebab shops, restaurants and other food retailers. The Truck Driver will support this wholesale supply operation by safely transporting and delivering customer orders to business customers across the local area. The role involves loading and securing products, completing scheduled deliveries, checking delivery documentation, assisting with unloading and maintaining the safe and timely distribution of fresh and perishable goods.

Key Responsibilities

* Safely operate company trucks to deliver fresh vegetables, meat products and other food supplies to business customers.

* Load, secure and transport goods to maintain product quality and prevent damage during transit.

* Deliver customer orders to vegetable shops, meat shops, kebab shops, restaurants and other local businesses according to scheduled routes.

* Check orders, invoices and delivery documentation to ensure the correct products and quantities are delivered.

* Assist with loading and unloading fresh produce, meat and other goods using safe manual handling practices.

* Obtain delivery confirmations and promptly report shortages, damaged goods or delivery discrepancies to management.

* Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report any faults, maintenance requirements or safety concerns.

* Keep the delivery vehicle clean, secure and in a roadworthy condition.

* Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure orders reach customers safely and on time.

* Handle fresh and perishable products carefully and follow appropriate food handling and transport procedures.

* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, vehicle usage and related transport activities.

* Build professional relationships with business customers and provide courteous service during deliveries.

* Comply with road transport laws, fatigue management requirements, workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.

Skills and Experience

* Previous experience working as a Truck Driver, preferably in transport, wholesale, grocery, fresh produce or a related environment.

* Minimum Cert III level qualification.

* Appropriate Australian heavy vehicle driver's licence for the truck operated.

* Good knowledge of road safety requirements and heavy vehicle operating procedures.

* Ability to safely load, secure, transport and unload goods.

* Good understanding of delivery schedules, route planning and transport documentation.

* Ability to perform routine vehicle checks and identify basic maintenance or safety issues.

* Reliable, punctual and physically capable of handling goods as required.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

* Strong commitment to workplace safety and responsible vehicle operation.
