Business Intelligence Analyst

Border Express has an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our talented team at our Tullamarine branch. This role is ideal for a professional with demonstrated experience in transforming source data into user-friendly dashboards using Microsoft SQL and the Power BI platform.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering insights that drive strategic and transformational decision-making. This involves cross-functional collaboration to provide data analysis and stakeholder consultation with internal clients. Our ideal candidate will possess expertise in data modelling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data, leveraging these insights to support business outcomes. Regular attendance at the Tullamarine office is a requirement for this role.

Location: Tullamarine, VIC

Salary: $80K

Duties:

- Participate in all stages of the project development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data modelling, visualisation development, and testing using an agile-based work methodology.

- Integrate multiple data sources to identify trends and analyse issues from diverse perspectives, drawing inferences and identifying specific challenges from the available information.

- Analyse problems, evaluate a range of options to suggest accessible and inclusive solutions, and translate complex issues into clear and understandable goals and targets.

- Optimise processes for data intake, modelling, validation, work output, and release management.

- Design highly effective visual data outputs to communicate results, business impacts, and insights to stakeholders within and outside the company.

- Engage with key stakeholders to validate findings and effectively resolve tickets and project matters.

- Develop test cases and perform comprehensive user acceptance testing.

- Apply best practices in business/data analysis to broaden and enhance the team’s capabilities.

Skills and Experience:

- Proven 1+ years’ experience in a business intelligence/analyst role, preferably in a Microsoft environment. Transport experience is highly regarded.

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Software Development, Engineering, or a related field are an advantage.

- Demonstrated time management skills, with a focus on quality assurance and excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking direction and providing support to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.

- Ability to work across a wide range of applications and projects, demonstrating a willingness to learn new concepts, techniques, and approaches to business analysis and data analytics.

- Strong stakeholder management skills, including documentation of user requirements, change management, and the ability to work with stakeholders.
