Salary: $71,480.70 per annum plus superannuation

About the Position

Monsoons Bar & Grill is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our management team in Townsville.

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the venue, including overseeing restaurant and bar service, managing staff, maintaining customer service standards, controlling stock ordering, and ensuring the venue operates efficiently and in compliance with all relevant requirements.

This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week, with work required across evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of the venue's normal trading operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and hospitality areas.

Supervise and coordinate front-of-house staff during service.

Train, supervise and support employees to maintain service standards.

Monitor employee performance and provide direction and feedback.

Ensure a high standard of customer service and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.

Oversee restaurant and bar service to ensure efficient and consistent operations.

Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation and service standards.

Assist with stock ordering, inventory control and stock management.

Monitor wastage.

Manage opening and closing procedures.

Coordinate functions, events and group bookings.

Liaise with suppliers and service providers.

Ensure the venue is maintained in a clean, safe and professional condition.

Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, workplace health and safety and other relevant legislation and policies.

Assist with implementing promotions and initiatives to improve sales and customer experience.

Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of venue operations.

Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of a Restaurant Manager.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

Demonstrated experience in restaurant or hospitality management.

Experience supervising and leading hospitality staff.

Experience with workforce management.

Knowledge of restaurant and food and beverage operations.

Experience with stock control, and ordering.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

The ability to manage a busy hospitality environment effectively.

Knowledge of relevant food safety, liquor licensing and workplace health and safety requirements.

Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
