Accountant

Khourys & Associates is a well-established and prominent public practice, seeking a full-time Accountant (Intermediate) to become part of our expanding team in Parramatta NSW.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and prepare Tax Returns & financials for small to medium sized business clients including sole trader, company, partnership, trust business structures and SMSFs

• Review, analyse and advise on business client’s financial statements, management accounting, financial performance, budget, and business structures matters

• Investigate and report any accounting discrepancies and/or suspected accounting fraud to the business clients

• Respond to business client’s internal accounting policies and procedures enquiries and act accordingly including review, analyse and provide sound advice to business clients about its internal accounting policies and procedures

• Advise on computer-based accounting system to suit business client’s accounting needs such as Xero etc

• Review and analyse business client’s Business Activity Statement and report to business clients

• Assist in the preparation of technical tax compliance audits and other financial compliance and statutory matters

• Liaise with ATO, ASIC or other external agencies if needed

• Guide accounting administration staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.

• Maintain management’s confidence by protecting financial data integrity and confidentiality of the business clients

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications - Degree in accounting

• Commencement or completion of CA qualification

• Minimum 12 months experience in a public practice

• Solid technical knowledge of accounting & taxation

• Sound knowledge of Xero and associated financials software

• Proficient use of technology including MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word

• Strong planning and organising skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within strict timeframes

• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain relationships and coordinate internal and external stakeholder requirements

Salary offered is $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation depending on skills and experience of the candidate. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed.
