Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Painter to undertake surface preparation, painting and finishing work across residential and commercial projects in Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up ladders, scaffolding and protective coverings to provide safe access and prevent paint or other materials from affecting surrounding areas.

• Remove old paint and other surface coverings, repair minor defects, fill cracks and holes, sand surfaces and apply primers or sealers as required.

• Mix paints, primers, stains and other coating materials to achieve the required colours, consistency and finish.

• Coat interior and exterior surfaces with paint, varnish, stains and protective finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.

• Install wallpaper and decorative wall coverings by accurately matching patterns and neatly trimming edges.

• Undertake minor repairs to timber surfaces and window frames, including basic glass replacement where required.

• Maintain painting equipment and work areas by cleaning brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other tools and safely storing materials after completing each job.

Essential Skills and Experience

• AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating, or an equivalent relevant qualification.

• At least one (1) year of relevant full-time experience as a Painter.

• Practical knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including safe work at heights.
