Software Engineer

Australia Network Services Pty Ltd (ANS) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Software

Engineer for our client operating in the software development, IT services, and digital solutions industry in

Sydney, Australia.

On a full-time basis, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving

software applications and systems. You will work closely with internal teams, business stakeholders, and

technical staff to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-focused software solutions.

* Salary: A$90,000 to 98,000

* Working Hours: 38 hours per week

* Work Location: In person

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements

analysis, system design, frontend and backend development, database integration, testing, deployment,

documentation, and ongoing system maintenance.

Main Duties and Tasks

* Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.

* Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, platforms, and system features.

* Develop frontend interfaces using technologies such as JavaScript, React, Vue.js, HTML5, and CSS3.

* Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and application logic using suitable programming languages

and frameworks.

* Design, manage, and optimise databases using SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar database systems.

* Develop RESTful APIs and support integration between internal systems and third-party platforms.

* Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in accordance with development standards.

* Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, code reviews, and performance optimisation.

* Participate in system design, software architecture planning, and technical documentation.

* Support cloud-based deployment, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps activities using tools such as AWS,

Azure, Git, Jenkins, or similar.

* Work with product managers, designers, business users, and technical teams to deliver software that

meets business objectives.

* Prepare user guides, technical documentation, release notes, and system support materials.

* Maintain data security, system reliability, and compliance with workplace policies and procedures.

* Support ongoing system upgrades, enhancements, and legacy system improvements.

Essential Requirements

* Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Full-Stack

Developer, or in a similar software development role.

* Experience in frontend development using JavaScript, React, Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, or similar

technologies.

* Experience with backend development, APIs, databases, and system integration.

* Knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar.

* Experience with SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational database systems.

* Understanding of software development lifecycle, system design, testing, debugging, and deployment

processes.

* Experience using Git, cloud platforms, CI/CD tools, or DevOps practices is highly regarded.

* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.

* Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced technical environment.
