Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator

N.B. & L.J. Lewis Trading as Lambnchampers Partnership is seeking applications for Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator in Mooralla VIC.

The Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and competent operation of agricultural and horticultural mobile plant and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Mobile Plant Operation

- Operate agricultural and horticultural mobile plant including, but not limited to, tractors, loaders, harvesters, sprayers, mower conditioners, rotary hay rakes, seeders and associated attachments

- Transport crops, soil, fertilizers, and equipment between work areas

- Operate machinery safely in varying terrain and weather conditions

- Ensure plant and equipment are used only within the scope of training, licences, and authorisations

Equipment Maintenance

- Conduct pre-start checks and routine inspections of machinery and equipment

- Perform basic servicing, cleaning, and minor maintenance tasks

- Identify, report, and document mechanical faults, defects, or safety issues promptly

Work Health and Safety (WHS)

- Comply with all workplace health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures

- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times

- Take reasonable care for personal safety and the safety of others

- Report hazards, incidents, injuries, and near misses immediately

Skills and Competencies

- Demonstrated experience operating agricultural and/or horticultural mobile plant

- Strong understanding of safe machinery operation and hazard awareness

- Ability to carry out basic mechanical checks and maintenance

- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in an outdoor environment

Qualifications and Licences

- Current Australian driver’s licence (required)

Working Conditions

- Work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to weather extremes

- Hours may vary due to seasonal, weather, and operational requirements

- Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak periods

Performance Expectations

- Operate machinery safely with minimal incidents or damage

- Maintain equipment in good working order

- Complete tasks efficiently and to required standards

- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong safety focus

Salary range is $65,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
