Role Overview

MG Joinery Installs Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter & Joiner to join its team in Five Dock, NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, constructing, assembling and installing timber and joinery components, ensuring finished work meets project requirements, dimensional accuracy and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure work areas, prepare layouts and select suitable timber, plywood, wallboard and other materials.

• Install doors, windows, wall panels, external cladding, mouldings, fixtures and other timber or joinery elements.

• Construct temporary timber formwork for concrete works and carry out repairs, modifications or replacement of existing timber fittings and joinery components.

• Inspect completed carpentry and joinery work, rectify defects and ensure installations meet project specifications, building requirements and safety procedures.

• Assemble and secure timber frames, panels, cabinetry, flooring components and other joinery structures.

• Cut, shape, trim and prepare timber and other materials using hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment

• Interpret architectural drawings, joinery plans and project specifications to establish measurements, materials, construction requirements and installation methods.

• Manufacture and fit timber joints and customised joinery components, incorporating plastic laminates, perspex and selected metal elements where required.

Essential Skills and Experience

• AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV in Carpentry, Joinery or a related trade qualification, or an equivalent relevant qualification.

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant full-time experience as a Carpenter, Joiner or in a closely related carpentry and joinery role.

• Sound knowledge of timber products, joinery materials, construction methods, fixing systems and relevant industry practices.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality workmanship.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team while managing competing priorities and meeting project deadlines.
