Singh’s Decking & Landscaping Services is a growing home improvement and outdoor construction business based in Greenbank, Queensland. The business provides a wide range of residential and outdoor renovation services, including custom decking, cabinetry, media walls, fencing, retaining walls, concreting, landscaping, turf installation and other tailored property improvement solutions. The company focuses on practical design, clean finishes, reliable workmanship and customised results that suit each client’s home, outdoor area and lifestyle. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be involved in constructing, installing, repairing and finishing a variety of timber and related structures across decking, cabinetry, fencing, outdoor features, media walls, framework and general carpentry projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Reading and interpreting plans, sketches, site measurements and job specifications to determine the required materials, dimensions, layout and installation methods for decking, cabinetry, fencing, framing and other carpentry works.
• Measuring, marking and setting out work areas accurately to ensure timber structures, cabinetry, outdoor features and fittings are installed to the required size, alignment and finish.
• Selecting, ordering and preparing suitable timber, hardware, boards, panels, laminates and other construction materials required for each project.
• Cutting, shaping, joining and assembling timber and other materials using appropriate hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment.
• Constructing and installing timber decking, pergola-style structures, outdoor seating, privacy screens, fencing components, retaining wall features and other external carpentry elements.
• Assembling pre-cut and prepared timber components to form structures, frames, fittings, cabinetry units, media walls and other custom-built features ready for installation.
• Creating accurate timber joints, edges, frames and finishes to achieve strong, neat and durable outcomes.
• Building and erecting timber frameworks for outdoor and internal carpentry projects, ensuring all structures are level, square, secure and properly aligned.
• Installing sub-flooring, floorboards, deck boards and related support structures while checking the strength, stability and trueness of the completed work.
• Fitting fascia boards, cladding panels, trims, external wall features, door frames, window frames and other finishing components where required for renovation and improvement projects.
• Preparing and constructing timber formwork for concrete works such as pathways, slabs, edging, outdoor areas and landscaping-related structures.
• Installing and finishing custom cabinetry, storage units, media walls, shelving and other internal fittings to suit each client’s space and design requirements.
• Working with timber as well as suitable related materials such as plastic laminates, composite boards, perspex, metal fittings and hardware where required for cabinetry, decking and finishing work.
• Repairing, replacing and improving existing timber structures, fittings, frames, decking, fencing and cabinetry as part of maintenance or renovation projects.
• Checking completed work for quality, safety, measurement accuracy, alignment, strength and presentation before handover.
• Safely operating tools and equipment, maintaining a clean work area and always following workplace health and safety procedures.
• Coordinating with team members, supervisors and clients to ensure projects are completed efficiently, professionally and in line with client expectations.
• Assisting with site preparation, material handling and final clean-up to support smooth delivery of landscaping, decking and carpentry projects.
Skills and Experience Required
• At least 1 year of relevant carpentry experience.
• An AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field.
Hours: 38 hours per week – Full Time
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
